The Nursery (so far)

I have a vision for this nursery so far and I'm hoping I will be able to achieve it. I want comfy, modern and non-baby decor. I love mixing patterns and so far have found some really neat pieces that go with the Dwell bedding set this project all started with. I love that the bedding has green, blue, white, brown  and grey. The potential for design is limitless so now the fun begins!

Stokke'd for Stokke

Today was spent building furniture, painting frames and sorting through boxes of clothing I no longer "need." Baby will be here in 74 days!

Nursery Inspiration

Love the pop of orange

The charcoal walls are beautiful with the white tree and orange owl

Love the furniture

love this ultra luxurious nursery for twins! The play nook is adorable too!

My favorite rug is from West Elm, but there is no way I am shelling out the $500 for it

This nursery has some really charming qualities, it looks so warm and inviting

I plan on using floating shelves over our changing table too.

Not our color palette, but these details are so beautiful

Another West Elm zigzag rug, i have rug envy.

The practicality of the Herman Miller rocker is still up for debate, but I do love the modern look.

16+ weeks and still no bump. It is amazing how crappy one can feel, but get none of the sympathy, because my bump is as noticeable as my size 2 self eating one too many cupcakes. I’m sure the moment my bump shows up, I will be begging to fit back into my skinny jeans, but for now I will envy the women around me with their adorable bumps.
One of the more noticeable events of the week has to be my decision to switch medical practices. Up until now I was a practice that had an alternative birthing center, but despite being under the impression they offered water births, they do not. Despite loving my doctor, I have decided to make the switch to another hospital nearby. They are one of two in/around Chicago that offer water births.
So on August 1 I will change medical groups and transfer to a midwife practice and be able to have a  water birth.
In the mean time I am going stir crazy waiting to find out what my little one is. Boy or girl? girl or boy? I guess i will just have to wait till July 12 as I really have no idea and have not even a guess as to what this little blueberry is.

Lucky Thirteen

We are at thirteen weeks today and I am more excited than ever! First of all, I will be out of school in two weeks! Done officially, forever, well until I decide that I really need a PHD... not going to happen.

Once I am done, I am heading out to Michigan for the summer. A good relaxing summer is really needed. I have never felt so drained and exhausted in my life so this is going to be a lovely summer of shade-bathing on the beach.

In other great news, yesterday was my first full day of being productive! I got up at 7am and was able to stay wide awake till 8:30pm. At around 9pm I fell asleep and it felt so good to get most of my work done. It has been a while since I have been able to be that productive. I was also able to enjoy some sushi. We went to our favorite downtown sushi joint called Oysy. They were incredibly nice and accommodating about cooking everything through. I had the California Sunset which is a California roll topped with salmon, which they kindly seared all the way through, two pieces of the Spider Roll and some chicken teriyaki. Yum!

I will be posting belly photos tomorrow... it's becoming quite prominent.
